Project Overview
At a municipal wastewater treatment plant, a ZK LW series decanter centrifuge was installed to enhance the sludge dewatering circuit. Operating downstream of aeration and thickening processes, the unit dewaters biological sludge conditioned with a polymer flocculant. The system consistently achieves high cake dryness and produces a clear centrate suitable for return to the headworks, supporting the plant's environmental compliance and cost-reduction targets as part of the overall treatment process.
- Feed characteristics: biological sludge after secondary clarification, flocculated with polymer
- Objective: reduce sludge hauling/landfill cost and improve centrate clarity
- Solution: ZK LW series decanter with optimized scroll design and wear protection
System Configuration
-
