IMARC, the International Mining and Resources Conference, brings mining companies, plant operators, engineering contractors and equipment suppliers to Sydney. The conversations at the ZK SEPARATION stand were with people who operate, or are specifying, a solid–liquid separation step. The duties they brought to the table were mine water, coal-washing slurry, tailings, and mineral slurries such as phosphate ore and red slurry.
The stand panels set out a mineral-slurry decanter centrifuge: continuous separation, wear protection on the parts that see the solids, a compact layout, and centrifugal force from 1,000 G to 3,000 G. Project photographs on the walls covered an underground coal-mine installation, phosphate ore, red slurry and shield-tunnelling slurry. End users stopped at those pictures and compared them with a feed they have in hand — solids content, particle size, abrasiveness, and the cake moisture and centrate clarity they need. The international sales representatives took those notes at the table and walked through bowl size, materials and drive configuration for each duty.
Interest at the booth stayed on the machine and on the technical route. Visitors asked whether the separator can run continuously, how dry the discharged solids can be, and whether the machine will fit a tight plant layout or an underground heading. Several end users sat down for a full scheme discussion and left contact details so the selection can continue after the show. Engineering visitors asked how centrifuge dewatering sits next to fine screening, and how water recovered in the centrate can return to the process.
The same questions already have a reference on installed equipment. An LW450×1670B explosion-proof decanter centrifuge was supplied for coal-washing wastewater, with the configuration set around the site’s explosion-proof requirements. The project background is on the coal slurry case study. Tailings dewatering came up in the same conversations: cake handling, the water returned to the plant, and wear on a fine, abrasive feed.

What Visitors Asked About
- Decanter centrifuge selection for mine water, coal slime and mineral slurry.
- Tailings dewatering, cake handling and the water returned to the process.
- Wear protection, continuous operation and compact installation for abrasive duties.
- Solids capture, centrate clarity and stable running when the feed solids change.
- How fine screening and centrifuge dewatering can sit together in a mining flowsheet.
- Support from equipment selection and site layout through commissioning.
ZK SEPARATION builds decanter centrifuges for mining slurry, wastewater sludge and resource recovery. With more than 20 years in separation equipment, 400+ machines a year, 60+ patents and 150+ partners, the Sydney meetings were used to match bowl size, materials and drive configuration to each duty. Contact details taken at booth E01-D will be followed up with the relevant application notes.

Plants that did not reach the stand can still send a feed description — solids content, particle size, abrasiveness, available space, and the result required. The international sales team will reply with a selection for the mining duty.
